Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs & Regional Integration, Honorable Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey is Ghana’s candidate for the position of Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, at elections to be held in October 2024.

The Foreign Minister’s vision for “a new Commonwealth in a fast-evolving world” reflects on new ideas on trade and investment; youth, education, skills, innovation and start-ups; mobility and labor markets; climate change; small states; and management of resources for an effective commonwealth institution.

Ghana now seeks the support of all Commonwealth nations for Honorable Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey’s candidature.
